Handyperson Service
The Handyperson Service supports residents of Richmond upon Thames who are over 60 years of age or have a disability.
We will assist with any practical job that helps an older or disabled person to live within their own home for longer or improves their safety and security such as:
- repairing a curtain rail
- replacing broken light switches
- fitting new or replacement locks
- changing a light bulb if you are not confident on a pair of steps
- changing tap washers
- putting up a shelf if it would help clear your floor space
- replace or re-secure a toilet seat
- fit a keysafe (available to buy from Handyperson)
- installing telecare equipment
- garden tidy up service
- safety & security check
Other light jobs around the house will be considered.

Charges
There is a charge for this service of £30 for a 2-hour visit. If the job cannot be completed for any reason there will be no charge for the visit.
All materials are charged at cost price except for materials that have been donated to us, which are supplied free of charge.
We will accept either cash or cheque. A receipt will always be given for any monies paid.
Donations
As a local charity we are always in need of donations and local support. If you would like to make a donation to this service please send your cheque (made payable to Age Concern Richmond upon Thames) to Age Concern Richmond upon Thames, Suite 301, Parkway House, Sheen Lane, East Sheen, London SW14 8LS or donations can be given to the Handyperson.
This is not an emergency service. We are not qualified plumbers or electricians.
